The HairMax LaserComb uses Class 3R hand-held photo therapy device that houses a single laser module that emulate 9-beams of laser light energy. As the only laser comb devise with the FDA clearance as a medical device for promoting hair growth, the public is assured that it is a safe product for the intent it was made for.

But it must be clearly noted that the FDA clearance is for the HairMax LaserComb Premium, not the SE model which is not considered a medical device or is cleared with the FDA. Therefore it is not for sale in the USA but it can be sold elsewhere.

Just like any consumer electronic device, there are some cautionary steps to make sure it works in top condition like not letting water to get into the device. As a laser device, you should not get your eyes or anyone’s eyes in contact with the laser beam.
